Pistachio is my favorite ice cream flavor. Which is weird, because I don't really like nuts in my ice cream. Pistachio, though, is an exception. I remember having Coney Island ice cream when I was a kid, and I would always have either the pistachio or the bubblegum flavor. I would lean more towards the pistachio, though. It has a certain creaminess to it that's addictive.
After Coney Island closed shop, I was never able to find anything similar to it. Not until Yellow Cab. Which is weird, if you think about it, because it's a pizza place. They have good pizza, but I love their ice cream best. It reminds me of the lyrics to a song;
He tastes like you, only sweeter.

ReplyDeleteSis that's so weird kasi ako naman, I love nuts, especially on my ice cream, but I don't like the Pistachio flavor! I actually only discovered that recently. Because remember my post about the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor from Baskin Robbins, I went to their store again the other day and immediately pointed on the green-colored ice cream, thinking it was the Mint Chocolate Chip. I was in a hurry so didn't bother to really check. When I tasted it.. eeeek! Mali pala ako ng order (I ordered 2 scoops of it pa naman) and ayun nga, hindi ko siya nagustuhan. I thought baka sa ice cream lang siya but when I bought the macarons from Dean & Deluca, yung color green pistachio flavor din and ayun, hindi ko din siya type. So nito ko lang na-discover na di ko pala like ang pistachio flavor.

@mooncake: Yep. Yung iba ngang flavors ng ice cream nila hindi ko pa nat-try. Partial talaga ko sa pistachio.

I also don't like nuts in my ice cream nor in any pastries. Gusto ko separate ko lang sila kakainin.

ReplyDelete@Dianne: I don't like nuts in my ice cream or my chocolate. Kaya hindi mabenta ang Ferrero Rocher. Mas gusto ko ang Kinder Bueno. Same chocolate, without the nuts. :D
ReplyDelete@Pink: Di ko din alam. Pero kaka-google ko lang, yung may-ari daw ng Go Nuts Donuts e same owner ng Coney Island ice cream. At naglabas sila recently ng Go Nuts ice cream. For that, masubukan nga... :D
