Carbonara at Kitchen of Cakes and Coffee on Tomas Morato. I love this quaint little restaurant. They have really good cakes and coffee.
This was my last solid meal before I got my braces. Yep. I got braces now. If you're surprised, then we're on the same boat. I went to visit my dentist to give her the x-rays and to have my fitting. She managed to do everything in one go. You see, I'm afraid of dentists. She was the only dentist I felt comfortable with in a long time, and I have this history of taking longer than she expects me to get back. So, when I suggested we do this some other day in the calendar, she said no. And I don't really blame her. She only sent me out for lunch. Hence, the photo above.
It's a bit disorienting, having braces. I feel like I have to check if my teeth are still there every five minutes, because it feels like the brackets are pulling them out. Bleh. At least, I still get to eat ice cream, though.
Only Hope (Switchfoot) was playing while my dentist worked on my braces, and I couldn't get it out of my head. So much so that I wanted to watch A Walk to Remember again.
^ Goodluck with your braces, sis. I remember my bf when he just had his braces - he lost weight because he has difficulty chewing food. :)
ReplyDeleteWhere is this resto sis? LOL Malapit lang kami sa Morato at never ko nakita to! hahaha
ReplyDeleteBraces! Cool! I never had one. Dapat dati kaso ayaw ko kasi naman I have eyeglasses na tapos braces pa = typical American geek hahaha Nerd na nga tawag sa akin nung college eh wala pang braces yan.
@Reggie: Hindi ko masabing masakit eh. Mahirap talagan ngumuya. Sumasakit lang kapag kumakagat ka. :P
ReplyDelete@Dianne: It's a small place next to Baang Coffee. Medyo tapat ng Chili's. This is where I'd eat after visiting my dentist. Malapit lang kasi yung clinic niya dito, as in isang kandirit lang. :D
ReplyDeleteMukha akong high school geek, sis. Hahaha. Panalo nga. This will take some getting used to. :P
Halatang di ko nakita to kasi kumakain kami minsan sa Baang Coffee hahaha
ReplyDeleteAt least sis wala kang eyeglasses. Less geeky.
@Dianne: Haha.. It's really a small place. Pero masarap yung cakes nila. :) Buti talaga wala akong glasses. Geek na geek lang. :P
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your braces sis! :) Funny na kanina lang, I was thinking na kung pwede pa ba ko magpa-brace at this age. Pangit din kasi teeth ko. Kaso naisip ko kung pwede man, malabo din since I'm here and expensive daw ang anything dental-related dito. So wala din.
ReplyDelete@Joanne: Thanks, sis! Kala ko talaga end of the month or early next month pa ko kakabitan.
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid of dentists din. Nung tumanda lang ako na-conquer ko yung fear na yun. Bilib na bilib yung dentist sa akin nung binunutan ako ng ipin kasi ang hirap daw bunutin tapos tinanong ako kung mahilig ba ko sa milk. Nung nalaman niya, kaya pala daw. So totoo pala talaga yung milk eh nagpapatibay ng buto at ipin haha
@Dianne: Talaga? Mahilig din ako sa milk. Yun lang, hindi ako nakakainom lately. Mahirap mag-stock ng wala kang fridge. :D
ReplyDeletenakakagutom! :D
ReplyDeletesis lalo ka mamamayat kasi mahirap kumain.. hehe! lahat ng friend ko na may braces, namayat talaga but after maka adjust ka, you'll be fine. to hell with those braces.. :D
I drink milk kasi more than water so baka ganun nga.
ReplyDelete@Dianne: I missed milk dahil nabanggit mo. Napabili tuloy ako. :D
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me... I wanna visit a dentist, too. Pag bakasyon na lang. Ang mahal kasi dito. Good luck on your braces, sis!
ReplyDelete@Pink: Thanks, sis! It's beginning to be bearable. :)
ReplyDeleteyum! this reminds me i haven't had lunch yet. hehehe
ReplyDelete@Gwacie: The pasta was pretty good. I love their cakes, though. :)
