Blogger was out yesterday, so I couldn't post this picture. Thank God for post options, though. I can still date it for Thursday's post.
I knew I was going to rant. My ATM card was captured by a machine, and I have since had very limited access to my funds. I cannot deal with cash because of this, I can only transact with checks. Don't expect me to have a credit card either, because I do not feel comfortable using money I don't have. The thing is, these days, the only things you get to use checks with are realty and loan sharks. Since buying property isn't something I do on a regular basis, I needed to find a way to transact for more basic common things. Like food, for example. Tell me, what establishment in this city accepts checks? Isn't a check supposed to guarantee payment better than credit cards? If it bounces, you can sue. So, how is it that hardly anyone uses checks for daily transactions?
I did say I was going to rant, didn't I?
I think mas better ang CC than checks. The seller get automatically paid by the bank so if the CC holder doesn't pay, the bank will go after him and not the seller whereas pag check, yung seller pa maghahabol sa nag-issue ng check and if the check bounced, di na siya nabayaran, sasakit pa ulo niya sa kakasingil haha

@Dianne: I know a credit card is so much more convenient, but I'm just trying to justify myself. :P
ReplyDeleteIt was a pinkish-red hue on one side and it turns a deeper shade towards the other side. Ewan ko bakit. It was fascinating to see, though. :)

Yung nawala mo palang post, have you tried checking yung Cache? Baka na-save pa dun yung sinabi mo pero ayun nga, sabi nung Blogger ibabalik naman daw nila. Kung kelan, yan ang di ko alam haha
Tinanong ko pa yung guard na nagro-ronda samin. Pula din tingin niya eh. Akala ko kasi ako lang. :D

That's one of my favorite songs from them. Sometime when I started this project, sabi ko dapat may time sa summer na magagamit ko 'tong song na 'to. Halos nakalimutan ko na yun, until yesterday. :)
Sis I was surprised na may checking account ka! Hehe.. I mean, bihira (re: ikaw pa lang) ako makakita kasi ng may checking account for personal use. Usually for business reasons yung mga kilala ko. I mean, I know there might be a lot of people who does have a checking acct for personal use pero personally nga, wala ako kilala. Kelan mo daw sis makukuha atm mo? Hindi ka ba pwede mag-withdraw over-the-counter?

I don't have a checking account pero gusto ko just for the heck of getting the check lang talaga haha Dati gustong gusto ko ng check kasi ba naman palagi ako nagkakamali ng sulat ng amount sa check pag enrollment na eh badtrip na badtrip na yung tatay ko kasi magpapadala nanaman siya ng check. Mga 3x na nangyari yun. Kung may check ako eh di ok lang na may bura bura at pipirmahan ko nalang. I have an ATM though pero ayaw ibigay sa akin ng tatay ko hahaha
@Joanne: Haha. Ang kulit nga kanina. My friend gave me cash and I gave him a check to cover it. :P Doñang-doña lang daw. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can transfer funds online naman to my account with another bank, para mas madaling maging liquid yung funds. Yung inconvenience lang kahapon e my transfers won't go through. I was really stuck. It's okay now, though. I'll probably get my card next week. :)

ReplyDeleteEto pa, nakalimutan ko na yung pin kasi nga di nga binibigay sa akin pero binigay naman one time lang at mukha ako taga-bundok sa ATM machine kasi 1st time ko gumamit hahaha Ayun nga, yung sa pin, di ko sinasabi sa tatay ko na di ko na maalala.

The sky looked fantastic, pero does the color imply a negative effect in our environment. I mean, hindi ba kaya ganyan yung kulay niya sa global warming?

@Faith - natawa naman ako dun sa donya comment.. heheh... anyway nangyari na rin sakin to before.. na card capture yng bpi atm ko... so sobrang takot ko nagbantay pa ko sa machine ng ilang minutes... kasi may usong modus operandi daw nun na may ilalagay sila something dun sa machine para ma stuck yung card mo.. tapos pag alis mo, saka nila i-withdraw yung savings mo...

ReplyDelete@Miss 'Chievous: I'm not sure, sis. Maybe it does. Yun din unang sumagi sa isip ko kung bakit red yung sky. And it was 3:00AM. It should have been really dark because that's the last two hours before sunrise.

ReplyDeleteAnd between checks and CCs, I prefer CCs. Ilang beses na ba ako binayaran ng checks... and most of the time nagbounce lang. :(
@Pink: I was on my way home, so I was lucky enough to capture it. Aw, that's sad, sis. You can sue people whose checks bounce, though. The check itself is considered a negotiable instrument. I worked for a bank, so I learned all this hula-baloo.
