I have planned on watching Departures at the 2011 Eiga Sai film festival this year with a friend. However, the influx of people who lined up to watch was just insane. Not that we didn't try. We queued up about an hour before they gave out tickets. There were just too many people who showed up, and we were about 50 people behind the last one who was given a seat. Oh well, we'll probably try it next weekend or another day within the week.
Hi, sis. Where is Ega Sai? Is it still Shang Plaza? I haven't experienced lining up for a film, tamad to fall in line except sa Crocs and Zara sale recently! Lol
ReplyDeleteKidding aside, I've missed a lot of 'artistic' films because of the long queues. Thankfully, I can watch some of it online :D
@photoparjour: Right now, they're at Shangri-La. Hanggang next week yata. I know that they're also having a run at the UP Film Institute, pero sa August pa. Parang naparami kasi yata ang tao ngayon. It was insane! Including the queue for Transformers. Iniisip ko baka ganun din next week dahil naman sa Harry Potter, kaya baka sa August na lang kami manuod. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to watch yung mga international films sa Shang. Japanese movies din, super funny yung napanuod ko.
ReplyDeleteFree tickets ba to sis? Kasi di ko maalala kung free din ba nung panahon ko.
Meron pala sa MET (Metropolitan Museum Manila) exhibits nung mga Japanese cartoon characters :)
@Dianne: Ako naman, I haven't watched one in about three years. I was looking forward to this, kaya lang di talaga kami umabot. Ang OA ng pila. Meron ng tatlong rows an hour before they gave out tickets. Free tickets din kasi. :)
ReplyDeleteDepartures? Last year film ba to?
ReplyDelete@Pink: I'm not sure, sis. Sabi sa flyer, 2008. Pero parang ang tagal na niya kung ganun. Napanood na 'to ng friend ko, gusto lang niyang mapanood sa movie house. Yun daw kasi ang nanalo. :)
