Day 60: After the Rain

March brought in the rain.  It felt like summer rain, too.  Maybe because it was just so hot the last few days.  It really smells like it's almost summer, and I like that.  It makes you anticipate for summer.  Which is simply fantastic because this country has the best summer in the entire universe, hands down.

Although, I'm probably one of those people who actually like the rain.  I don't like flood, which is an after effect of heavy downpour, but I like drizzling rain.  The ones you get before or after summer.  The kind that comes with a light breeze and leaves a rainbow after.  I like how people move after a rainfall, too.  The closing of umbrellas and the slow progressive movements.  Kind of like awakening.  I like the little puddles in the gutter and the glistening pavement.  It must be the romantic in me, but the aftermath of a rainfall feels like poetry in motion.  It's really like watching something somber turn luminous.  Because believe me, after the rain, would always come the sun.

Day 48: Halfway

On my way home, I cross this island on Buendia.  I don't usually go home this late in the morning.  Normally, traffic wouldn't be this heavy and the sun isn't too far up in the horizon.  Lately, though, I had to make adjustments in my schedule because of business needs.  It makes me see the morning in a different perspective.  It's more busy and bustling, yet still drowsy.  As if people have already had the time to take in their morning coffee, but the caffeine hasn't kicked in.  It's fascinating to watch when you're Halfway Home (Jason Mraz).

Day 4: Night Shift

I'm nocturnal. I'm not trying to be poetic, I just really am. I've been living most of the last six years wide awake during the night. So much so that when I spent a month working during the day, I felt completely misplaced, as if I was transported to a different timezone. Seeing daylight was a bit fascinating for me. Fascinating and weird. I have always felt more productive at night. The world seems more introspective after twilight. Add the fact that I like watching lights flicker on velvety black background.

It's also strange that one thing I probably like best with working in the night, is going home in the morning. Morning light is always refreshing. No matter how stressful work is, walking home in the morning always makes me feel there's something good to look forward to.
