Day 185: On The Way Home

The corner of Ayala and Makati Avenue on the way home from doing grocery.

I have to be proud of myself.  I went out to buy stuff for my place and I did not end up going anywhere else other than the grocery and the drugstore.  Well, I did time it in such a way that those were the only things I'd be able to do.  Still, considering that Forever 21 was right outside the grocery, and all the other stores were just about a stone's throw away, I did pretty well in avoiding them.  Now, I'm finishing up my three-day weekend with a movie marathon and some dinner.

Day 180: Best Foot Forward

My lovely new shoes.  One of the pairs I got.  Don't ask.  Someone got a little too crazy shopping this week.

My bank account hates me right now.  It does not believe that I have any sense of discipline.  Neither does it believe that I have the capacity to understand the word.  I say, this is all MNG's fault.  If they didn't start it, I really wouldn't be buying things like I ran out of stuff in my closet.  I mean, this week was insane.  I was either in a mall or online.  Either way, I was buying something.  Oh, well, mid-year sales only happen once a year.

Must. Not. Shop.

Day 105: Retail Therapy

This is my girly-time post.  When Forever 21 first opened in Manila, I wasn't really caught in the storm.  I looked forward to shopping at the store, with all the raves about it.  When I finally got to visit the humongous Megamall branch the end of last year, though, I left the store with nothing.  I thought, maybe because their target market is a younger audience.  Twenty-one, right?  So, I didn't actively try to visit their store anymore.

When their second location in Makati opened, I knew I would end up visiting.  I just didn't think that this time I would really find anything.  I went home after my first visit with items I really liked.  Over the course of this week, I kept thinking about a yellow dress I saw there.  So, I decided to go back.  I saw the yellow dress, and another star-dotted (it isn't studded) dress.  The yellow dress did not really fit me like I wanted, and I ended up going home with the other dress.  It looks very 50's.  (Cue 50's music: Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry)

A fascinating thing I found out is that at the bottom of my their shopping bag is a bible verse, John 3:16.  Made me smile.
