Day 271: Noodle Breakfast

I had a noodle breakfast with a friend at North Park today.  Shrimp dumpling and 3-kinds of mushroom on empress noodles.  Yummy!

Day 222: Making My Own Meal

Baby steps.  I'm taking baby steps.  I have managed to prepare myself breakfast that involves a stove.  Sure, sausage and eggs isn't much, but that's a lot considering what I do in the kitchen.  Which is nothing.

Day 217: Rainshower on My Breakfast

The weather seems to be bi-polar.  When work ended, it seemed like it was going to be a day for the sun.  Then it rained like crazy while we were having breakfast.  Then, as we were finishing off our meal, the sun just shined.  I swear, this weather is insane.

Day 202: The Daily Bread

I wanted solids to eat, after having too many servings of congee and chicken noodles.  I really haven't been feeling well and I've been trying to keep my strength up.  However, it looks like my body just wants to rest.  A couple of hours into work, I was sent home because I was probably more viral than useful.  I tried to make myself breakfast after sleeping for several hours, however, this flu is making me lose my appetite.

I do hope to feel better by tonight.  I still have loose ends to tie up at work before I go on leave.  I still have a class to take care of.  Another reason I want to get better is because I do not want to be ill when I go on my trip.

Day 186: Breakfast Reading

This is how I just spent the last couple of hours since I got home.  Having breakfast and reading.

The breakfast being the bowl of corned beef and potatoes, and watermelon for dessert.  The books in the photo are on the reading list for July.  I have read One Day, but I may need to refresh my memory of it's details.  I'm currently thumbing through Room by Emma Donoghue.  I had to start reading through it, otherwise, I might forget about needing to finish it before the discussion starts.  Also, I had to read non-work related literature to clear my head of all the numbers I've been calculating the entire day at work.  I'm back to going through the odious task of rediscovering payroll and tax, and by the sixth hour everything being discussed just sounds like blah, blah, blah...

Winding down with a song about stalking: Goodnight and Go (Imogen Heap).  I know, I'm so weird.

Day 112: Rockstar

Taken at Heaven & Eggs while ending a Good Friday shift with breakfast.

Now, what does it take to be a rockstar?  While having breakfast, we were watching Madonna's concert.  I couldn't take my eyes off the screen while she performed Like A Prayer at the Sticky & Sweet tour.  She had this massive crowd in Argentina moving spontaneously at the same time in the same beat and chanting her name.  You see faces crying and laughing at the same time.  Say what you want to say, but this witch is a rockstar.  Only rockstars can have a legion of followers who will worship their every move with bated breathe.  I'm not a huge Madonna fan, but I will admit that if she does a concert here, I will watch.  And I don't care if she lip-sings the entire hour.  I'm not watching her because I want to hear her sing live.  I want to see her perform live.  She's like Michael Jackson.  There should be at least one song of theirs that you like.  I think, that's what rockstars are.  You will acknowledge their talent, notwithstanding whatever diva tantrum they throw.  You will still listen to their music, you will buy their album or stalk them on Twitter.  They have this insane ability to drive an entire stadium of people to do their bidding, sort of like royalty.

Now, I'm missing the high you get when you're in a concert.  It's like an explosion of endorphins.  That should be part of my goal this year.  To watch an amazing concert.

Day 39: Breakfast of Champions

I almost did not get to take any picture for today.  I spent most of yesterday and today with the printer (I raped the print button).  It was a good thing that I have good friends who I work with, and who look after my welfare when I'm beginning to forget about it.  Yesterday, they bought me my lunch.  Today, they brought me pan de sal and peanut butter, which I love and miss like Disney movies.

I appreciate the people I work with.  I would have suffered from the insanity brought by stress if I weren't blessed enough to work with people I enjoy working with.  When things go really crazy, I know that my team is all I need.  Work isn't always fun, even when you enjoy what you do for a living.  But it's easier to get by when you're surrounded by creative and positive people who serve as constant reminders that it all boils down to the choices you make each day.  The choice to find something good everyday.  The choice to be happy.  The choice to believe. The choice to make it right.  The choice to make it work.  The choice to be a champion everyday.
